How To Play Queen – Sweet Lady from the 1975 album A Night At The Opera

Guitar Tab Link : http://1drv.ms/1wXCRep

A truly great rock track and the inspiration behind the fast version of We Will Rock You (Live Killers Album)

I’ve added guitar tab as a guide.
The guitar tab is correct on chorus as a I made an error in my explanation. The first two bars are played 3 times as opposed to twice.

As the guitar outro solo is quite a explosion of overlapping licks played at the same time I’ve tried to give a brief look at the different bits used. Listening to the original record should make things clearer.

“Sweet Lady” is a distortion-driven fast rocker written by May. The song is an unusual rock style in 3/4 meter (which gives way to 4/4 at the bridge). Taylor remembers it as the most difficult drumming part he ever recorded.[attribution needed]

The backing track was probably recorded live as you can hear the snare wires on the snare drum of Taylor’s kit vibrating along with Deacon’s bass guitar riff.

Inside Pop — The Rock Revolution is a CBS News special, broadcast in April 1967. The show was hosted by Leonard Bernstein and is probably one of the first examples of pop music being examined as a “serious” art form. The film features many scenes shot in Los Angeles in late 1966, including interviews with Frank Zappa and Graham Nash, as well as the now-legendary Brian Wilson solo performance of “Surf’s Up.”

(c) 2004 Channel Four: The Beatles – 20th Century Greats

Music has been a central part of my entire life – yet to this day I’ve never understood how it all works in terms of its emotional “mechanics”.

In Desert Island Discs mode, for me there are three towering influences: The Beatles; Bach, and Handel – they are the big three, without question. And for for those of us who hold the music of The Beatles in the highest esteem, here classical composer Howard Goodall gives us an informed and absorbing account of their musical innovation, their influence, and their lasting legacy.

It’s a real privilege to be educated by someone who can express the language of music so eloquently, as classical composer and wider musician. Not everyone is going to agree with him here, but he’s persuasive.

I’m looking forward to comments about Howard Goodall’s personal survey here; and to kick them off, the thing that struck me most was the idea of “instinctive” compositional talent, and the influence of classically-trained Sir George Martin. I have no idea why Goodall completely ignored George Martin’s contribution to the Beatles’ musical output: it’s a pretty staggering omission. Maybe it would have polluted the populist idea of Everyman, as composer?

Currently this has not been released on DVD or any other purchasable format. I am therefore uploading to my Channel to share musical education with others.

It is available elsewhere on YouTube, but I wanted to draw my Subs’ attention to it.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

This is my EARTH DAY SONG for 2014. Earth Day is April 22, 2014.

The song is called Save Mother Earth and it is the lead track from my latest album, Return of the Rock.

I have dubbed this eco friendly rock anthem the un official song of Earth Day 2014. The song is in no way shape or form affiliated with the official Earth Day movement as of yet. However, it would be nice if those guys were to adopt this song, don’t you think?

The lyrics are about what one single person can do to help save the planet….going green, recycle, reuse, reduce, conserve, etc.

The song is unassuming enough, however there is a surprise in the middle, not many people will expect.

The last chorus features my children singing. This is a good song for children and kindergarten kids that like rock music. The song has a good, eco green message.

If you like this song, you will love the entire album. Return of the Rock is available on iTunes, Amazon mp3 and Google Play.
